Simon DeGroot

Simon DeGroot was born in Sydney, but is currently residing in Tarragindi with his wife.  He has been a professional artist for over 3 years with his graffiti art known as a ‘narrative’ style. His work tells a story through motif images, similar to that of the Egyptian hieroglyphs. Simon employs strong imagery influenced by graphic design, architectural structures, popular culture, packaging and advertising media.

The Iceworks precinct mural is titled ‘King Castle’ with the idea being that Iceworks is a place for kings. A veritable castle where patrons can eat, drink and be merry. It’s a place for meeting friends, conversations and meals. The mural is designed to be creative but crisp, to be prominent but also light. The whole mural was created from conception through to finish in one week.

Simon has exhibitions of new artwork every few months around Australia.
